L’Egypte hisse son pavillon sur le BPC Anwar el-Sadat

Dans un contexte chargé de symboles et de références historiques, la marine égyptienne a officiellement pris possession de son second bâtiment de projection et de commandement au cours d’une cérémonie qui s’est déroulée le vendredi 16 septembre à Saint-Nazaire. C’est là que l’Anwar el Sadat, comme son sistership le Gamal Abdel Nasser (livré en juin dernier), a été réalisé par STX France pour le compte de DCNS, qui porte ce programme.

Gowind® 2500 corvette becomes a reality

On 17 September, DCNS floated the first Gowind® 2500 corvette out of its assembly hall at the Lorient shipyard just 12 months after construction began. The Elfateh, the first of a series of four Gowind® 2500s for the Egyptian Navy, is scheduled for delivery in 2017. The three sisterships will be built under a technology transfer agreement at the Alexandria Shipyard; work on the first having begun in 2016.
